Moon River Cottage is in Whitby, right on the harbour. The main thing is the view. You have a terrace outside and you're basically level with the boats, they're that close when they go past. You can also see the steam trains arriving at the station from there.
It sleeps five, in three bedrooms. There's one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. The layout is open plan inside. The terrace goes around three sides, so you can follow the sun.
You really don't need the car much. It's about a five minute walk into the centre of Whitby. There's a shop 400 yards away, a pub and restaurant about 500 yards. The beach is three quarters of a mile.
The property is listed as having wheelchair accessible entrance. The terrace is level with the living space, but it's worth checking the specifics if accessibility is a key requirement.
For days out, Robin Hood's Bay is about ten minutes south by car, it's a very steep old fishing village. Sandsend is north, maybe a fifteen minute drive. The North York Moors National Park starts just inland. The North Yorkshire Moors Railway runs from Pickering to Whitby, through Goathland.
Facilities: parking on site, bedding and towels are included, there's a washing machine, WiFi, and a TV. It's listed as Christmas themed, so it's decorated for the season in December. No pets.
