Moon River Cottage is in Whitby, right on the harbour edge. The water comes up almost to the garden wall. You get your own terrace out there.
It sleeps five. Three bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. There's a step into the property at the front door, but once you're in it's all on one level. It's open plan inside.
The best thing is the view. You're looking straight out at the estuary. The Abbey's on the hill opposite. You can sit outside and watch the boats and the steam trains coming into the station. The terrace wraps round three sides, so you can follow the sun.
You can walk into Whitby town centre in about five minutes. There's a pub and a shop a few hundred yards away. If you're driving, you can park on site. Once you're here, you probably won't need the car much.
Whitby beach is about three quarters of a mile. For a different walk, Robin Hood's Bay is about 15 minutes drive south. The North York Moors National Park starts just inland. If you like steam trains, the North Yorkshire Moors Railway runs from Pickering to Whitby.
Facilities: there's a washing machine, WiFi, TV, and bedding and towels are included. The property is all-electric. No pets.
