Broom Cottage is in Whitby, near the harbour. It's a small, one up one down place for two people. You reach it via a public footpath off the main road, so there's no driveway, but you can unload outside.
It's got a 3 Star rating. That's accurate. It's clean and everything works, but it's compact and basic. The kitchen is small and the shower room is next to it, downstairs. The stairs to the bedroom are a spiral staircase, so they're tight. The bedroom itself is fine, under the eaves.
There's a little garden at the front with a bench. It gets the sun in the morning. The cottage is on a footpath, so you get a bit of foot traffic past the gate, but it's mostly locals heading to the harbour.
You're about a five-minute walk from the centre of Whitby. All the shops, pubs, and the fish and chip places are right there. The beach is about ten minutes on foot.
If you want to explore, the North York Moors are right on the doorstep. The North York Moors National Park website has good walking routes. Robin Hood's Bay is a few miles down the coast, and you can walk there along the Cleveland Way if you're feeling energetic. For steam train trips, the North York Moors Railway starts from Grosmont, which is about a 20-minute drive.
Facilities are as listed. There's a TV, the bedding and towels are included, and you've got the garden. No pets. Parking is on-street in the local area, which is usually fine if you're willing to walk a short distance back.
