Seacrest Cottage is in Whitby, in the old part of town near the harbour. It's an 18th century place, so the walls are thick and the floors can be a bit uneven. It sleeps four, with two bedrooms and one bathroom.
It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's well looked after. The description says 'stunning sea views from the top two floors', and that's right. You can see the sea from the two upstairs windows, which is nice.
The stairs are cottage stairs. Steep and narrow. You get used to them.
You're right in the middle of things here. The beach at Tate Hill is about fifty yards away. There's a pub and a restaurant about twenty yards from the door. The 199 steps up to St Mary's Church and the Abbey ruins are right nearby too.
If you walk out and turn left, you're on the harbour front in a minute. All the fish and chip shops, cafes, and the little shops are there. For a longer walk, you can follow the Cleveland Way along the cliffs.
Within about thirty minutes' drive, you've got Robin Hood's Bay, which is all winding lanes and smuggler history. Staithes is similar. The North York Moors are right there if you want to get inland.
For what's here: there's a small patio with a BBQ. It's got a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi and TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. We can’t take pets.
