Captains Cottage is in Whitby, on the east side of town. It's right at the edge, about a hundred yards from the beach. You can see the sea and the harbour from the front windows.
It sleeps eight people. There are four bedrooms and three bathrooms, which helps with a bigger group. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's a re-built old smokehouse, so the rooms are a good size and it stays warm. There's parking for two cars.
You can walk into the centre of Whitby in a few minutes. It's down some cobbled streets, so you'll want proper shoes. The abbey, the 199 steps, and all the pubs are right there.
The Cleveland Way runs past if you're here to walk. You can join it from the cottage.
For facilities, it has a washing machine, a dishwasher, and a woodburning stove. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. There's also WiFi. Sorry, no pets.
If you're looking for things to do, the National Trust Yorkshire and North York Moors National Park sites are useful. They cover a lot of the area around here.
