Heatherlea
Heatherlea is a ground-floor apartment in Sleights. It's detached and has its own off-road driveway. The ceilings are high and there are big bay windows, so it's bright. The main living space is at the front, with a gas fire. At the back there's a dining room and a kitchen that looks out onto the garden.
It sleeps up to six, but it's two bedrooms and one bathroom. So that's four adults and two children, really. It has a 3 Star rating. It's all on one level, which is handy, and the entrance is wheelchair accessible.
The village has a shop, a cafe, a chippy, and a butcher. Whitby is about four miles away. That's where you'll find the harbour, the abbey, the 199 steps, and all the proper shops and places to eat. The beach is about the same distance.
You're right on the edge of the North York Moors here. The road goes straight up from the village into the moors. It's good walking country. You can get the steam train from Whitby or Ruswarp, which is just down the road. That takes you through the Esk Valley to Pickering.
For a day out, York is about an hour's drive. Flamingo Land is near Pickering if you've got children with you.
It has parking, a washing machine, a dishwasher, wifi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. No pets.
