New Cottage is in Egton, which is a village inland from Whitby. It's semi-detached. The front garden is enclosed, which is good if you have a dog or kids. There's a patio with a table and chairs. It gets the sun in the afternoon.
It sleeps three. Two bedrooms, one shower room. It's got a 4 Star rating, which is good. It's comfortable and well looked after. The layout is on a few different levels, which is common for these old places. There are a couple of internal staircases. One is a bit steep. Just so you know.
The living room has a wood burner, which is nice in the cooler months. The kitchen has a breakfast bar. There's a washing machine and a dishwasher. All the bedding and towels are included. We provide a cot and a highchair if you need them.
There's a pub about 175 yards away. It serves food. The nearest shop is a couple of miles away, so you'll want to come with supplies. Whitby is about seven miles. You can drive or get the train from Grosmont, which is less than two miles down the road. The North Yorkshire Moors Railway steam trains run from there too.
For the coast, Robin Hood's Bay, Sandsend, and Staithes are all within a 30 minute drive. Dalby Forest is good for walking and cycling. The Cleveland Way National Trail runs along the coast and across the moors if you're a serious walker.
There's parking for one car on the gravelled drive.
