New Cottage is in Egton. It’s about seven miles inland from Whitby. The front faces away from the road so it’s quiet.
It’s a two bedroom stone cottage. Sleeps three. One bedroom has a standard double bed. The other is a galleried room with a small double. It’s a proper old cottage so the layout is on different levels and the stairs are cottage stairs, just so you know.
There’s an open plan living room with a wood burner. The kitchen has a breakfast bar. One bathroom with a walk-in shower.
Outside, there’s an enclosed front garden with a patio and seating. You also get access to a rear garden via a side path. Views are over fields.
It’s got a 4 Star rating. Everything’s included: bedding, towels, WiFi, parking. There’s a washing machine, dishwasher, cot and highchair if you need them. No pets.
A local pub that does food is about a three minute walk away.
For the area, Whitby is fifteen minutes by car. The coast at Sandsend, Robin Hood’s Bay or Staithes is within a half hour drive. The North York Moors are right on the doorstep.
Grosmont station is two miles away for the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. Dalby Forest is good for cycling and walking. Useful links for planning: National Trust Yorkshire and England Coast Path.
