Beckside Cottage is in Houlsyke, which is in the North York Moors. It sleeps two, just the one bedroom and bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, which is good. It means it's comfortable and well looked after.
It's a Grade II listed cottage, so the walls are thick and the windows are small. It's attached to one other property. The garden is yours though, it's enclosed. There's a stream at the bottom of it. You can get onto the moors straight from the garden over a little bridge.
It's very quiet here. You can hear the stream. The view from the front is across fields towards the moors.
Inside, it's got a wood burning stove for cooler nights. There's a dishwasher and a washing machine. WiFi works fine. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside.
You can bring one dog. There's a highchair and a cot if you need them.
The nearest pub and restaurant are about three miles away in Castleton. Castleton has a shop and a café too. For a bigger shop, or for the coast, you drive to Whitby. That takes about twenty minutes. Robin Hood's Bay and Runswick Bay are a similar drive. They're good for a walk by the sea.
For walking, you're right in it. You can just step out of the garden. For planning days out, the North York Moors National Park website is useful. The National Trust has places nearby too, like the coast.
