The Byre is in Westerdale in the North York Moors. It's a single-storey cottage, so everything's on the ground floor. It's detached and looks out over the dale. The view is good.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable. The living room has a multi-fuel stove, which is nice in the colder months. It's open plan.
Because it's all on one level and has a walk-in shower and low worktops, it suits people who find stairs difficult. There's parking right outside.
The property is converted from old farm buildings. The owners live across the courtyard in a farmhouse that's much older. It's very quiet here.
You can walk straight from the door onto the moors. The local pub is about a mile and a half away in Castleton. Castleton has a shop too.
Whitby is about a 25 minute drive. It's a proper fishing port with the abbey and everything. The coast along there has all the little villages like Staithes and Robin Hood's Bay.
