Westerdale Barn

Westerdale Barn is on our farm near Battersby. It's part of the old abbey site. We keep sheep and cattle here, so you'll see them in the fields. The property is detached.

It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. The rating is 4 Star. It's comfortable and well looked after. There are wooden floors and a wood-burning stove. The ceilings are beamed and quite high. It's open plan downstairs.

You're right in the North York Moors. Footpaths start from the door. The drive from the main road is about two miles, it's a farm track so take it slow.

The nearest shop is in Kildale, about three miles. The closest pub is in Castleton, six miles. For a restaurant, you're looking at eight miles to Danby. It's quiet here.

Whitby is about a half hour drive. The beach is sandy and the harbour's good for a wander. You can get on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway there. Staithes and Runswick Bay are similar distances, very pretty for a coastal walk.

On the farm there's a games room in one of the outbuildings, with a pool table. The garden is yours to use, and there's a barbecue. We allow one well-behaved dog. Parking is right outside.
