Whitby Apartment

So the Whitby Apartment is in Commondale. It's a village in the North York Moors. You're in a converted school building, red brick, which is now four separate apartments. This one is on the ground floor.

It's for two people. One bedroom with its own bathroom. It's got a three star rating, so it's comfortable and clean but not luxury.

Inside, everything's on one level. There's a small step between the living room, kitchen, and bedroom, but that's it. It's open plan at the front, with a table by the window and a sofa. The kitchen is compact but has what you need, including a dishwasher and a washing machine. The bedroom is a decent size with big wardrobes.

Outside, there's a small shared garden at the front with a bench. Good for a morning coffee. Parking is right there where the old playground was. The owners live next door in the other part of the school.

The local pub is just a short walk away. It serves food. That's handy for an evening meal.

Commondale station is about a 15 minute walk. The train line goes to Whitby one way and Middlesbrough the other. The service isn't frequent, but it's a nice way to get to Whitby without driving. You can also get off at Grosmont for the North York Moors Railway steam trains.

For walking, you're right in it. The moors are on your doorstep. By car, you can get to the coast in under half an hour. Staithes, Whitby, Runswick Bay, Robin Hood's Bay, Saltburn. They're all within reach for a day out.

You can bring one dog. A lot of the pubs and cafes around here are fine with dogs.

It has WiFi and TV. All your bedding and towels are included. The parking is on site.

If you're looking for more information for walks or days out, the North York Moors National Park site is useful, as is National Trust Yorkshire for some of the coastal spots.
