It's called Kildale Barn. It's a stone building on our farm up in Battersby. It's part of the old Baysdale Abbey site, so the setting is good. It's down a two mile track from the main road, so it's very quiet. You're in the middle of the North York Moors National Park.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms upstairs, one bathroom. The rating is 4 Star. There's a wood burning stove in the main room. The ceilings are vaulted with some beams. The floors are stone downstairs. The views from the windows are over the valley, mostly fields.
We are a working farm. You'll see sheep and cattle in the fields around. There's a beck running through the garden, it's fenced for safety. The garden is shared with the other holiday barns here, but it's a big space.
For the facilities: bedding and towels are included. There's a washing machine, a TV, a highchair and a cot if you need them. Parking is right outside. You can bring one dog. There's a games room in one of the other barns you can use. Bicycle storage is available.
The nearest shop is about three miles away in Castleton. The closest pub is in Lealholm, that's about six miles. For a restaurant, you'd head to Great Ayton or Whitby.
For getting out, you can walk straight from the door onto the moors. The coast is about a 30 minute drive. Whitby has the harbour and the Abbey. You can catch the steam train from there into the national park. Staithes and Runswick Bay are good for a trip out too.
