Warren Farmhouse is in Kildale, up in the North York Moors. It's a detached stone farmhouse from about 1780. It's remote. You're on a private estate with fields and moorland right outside. The views are really good.
It sleeps ten people. There are five bedrooms and five bathrooms, so everyone gets a bit of space. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's been done up as a family home, so it's comfortable but it's still an old farmhouse. The ceilings are beamed, the stairs are typical for a place this age, and there are log fires. The kitchen has an Aga, which is great if you know how to use one.
You're surrounded by footpaths and bridleways straight from the door. The wildlife is all around, curlews and grouse and that. The Kildale train station is nearby, on the Esk Valley line. You can get the normal train, or sometimes a steam service, all the way to Whitby. It goes through Goathland, which you might know from Heartbeat.
For things a bit further out, you're about half an hour from a few places. Whitby and the coast are that way. Stokesley is a nice market town with proper shops and pubs, about a 20-minute drive. For a big day out, Castle Howard is within 30 minutes, and so is the North York Moors Railway at Pickering.
Facilities: it's got pretty much everything you'd need. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right there and an enclosed garden with a BBQ. You can bring up to two dogs.
