Farndale Apartment
This is the Farndale Apartment in Commondale. It's on the first floor of a converted old schoolhouse. We live next door in the other part of the building.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one is a double and one has twin beds. There's one bathroom with a walk-in power shower. It's got a 3 Star rating. Everything's clean and it works, but it's not luxurious.
You go in through a shared hall and up the stairs. The apartment itself is all on one level. The living area is open plan, with the kitchen at one end. There's an electric fire for when it's cold. The dining table is by the front window.
Out front, there's a small shared garden with a bench. The views over the moors are good from there. Parking is on the old playground, right outside.
The local pub is a few yards away. They do food. The village is quiet. It's on the Esk Valley train line, which goes to Whitby. The station is about a fifteen minute walk. The service isn't frequent, but it's useful if you don't want to drive.
It's walking country. You can step out the door onto the moors. The coast is under half an hour's drive. Whitby, Staithes, Robin Hood's Bay - they're all close for a day out.
One well-behaved dog is welcome. The facilities are what you'd expect: WiFi, TV, washing machine, dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included.
