Coltus Lands is a barn conversion on a working farm in Castleton. It's detached. The farm is organic and Grade II listed, mostly dating from the 1800s.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both en-suite. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's well-finished and comfortable.
The views are out over Danby Dale. You're right on the edge of the North York Moors National Park. There are bridle paths and cycle tracks that go straight from the farm into the valleys.
The local shop and pub are about a mile away in Castleton village. The pub does food.
For days out, you've got the market towns like Helmsley and Pickering inland. The coast is about half an hour's drive. Staithes and Runswick Bay are good. Whitby is the main town there, with the Abbey and everything.
The North Yorkshire Moors steam train runs from Whitby to Pickering. It goes through Goathland, which is where they filmed Heartbeat.
If you're a bigger group, there are two other cottages here on the farm that can be booked together.
Facilities: It has a woodburner, a BBQ, a dishwasher, and a washing machine. There's bike storage and parking. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. WiFi and TV are there. No pets.
