Coltus Lands
Coltus Lands is on our farm in Castleton, North Yorkshire. It's a detached barn we converted. It looks out over Danby Dale.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both with their own bathrooms. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's well-finished and comfortable. It's on a working farm, so you'll see sheep and sometimes hear tractors.
The barn is part of an old model farm, Grade II listed. The stairs inside are a typical barn conversion style, so they're open tread and a bit steep.
You've got your own patio with a table and a BBQ. The garden is shared with the other barns, but it's a big space. There's bike storage if you bring them.
The farm is organic, and there are bridle paths and tracks straight from the gate into the moors. You can walk for miles without using a road.
For shops and a pub, it's about a mile into Castleton village. They have the basics. For a bigger shop, you'd go to Pickering or Helmsley.
Whitby is about a 25 minute drive. The coast there is good - Staithes, Runswick Bay. The North York Moors Railway steam train runs from Whitby to Pickering, right through Goathland. It's a nice trip.
Inside, there's a woodburning stove, dishwasher, washing machine, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside.
