The Old Sheaf Store is up near Glaisdale. It's a converted barn from the 1700s. There are two other cottages on the farm, and the owners live here too in the B and B.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. Views are good, out across the valley.
You get your own patio area. The grounds are shared and are about an acre and a half, with a duck pond. There are hens roaming about.
There's a shared games room with a snooker table. There's also a shared indoor heated swimming pool, a small gym, and a steam room. You have to book and pay for those separately, it's about £35 per person for the week.
Inside, it's open plan. There's a wood burning stove. Facilities are all there: washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if needed. You can bring one dog.
The nearest shop is about 500 yards away. The pub is three quarters of a mile.
You're right in the North York Moors National Park. Good walks start from the door. The North Yorkshire Moors Railway is nearby at Grosmont. Whitby is about eight miles drive for the abbey and the coast. Robin Hood's Bay and Staithes are a bit further on.
For planning, the North York Moors National Park site is useful, and so is English Heritage for Whitby Abbey.
