The Old Sheaf Store
The Old Sheaf Store is a two-bedroom cottage in Glaisdale. It's part of Red House Farm, which is a working farm with some B&B rooms. Your cottage is separate, with its own front door and a patio area.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It has a 4 Star rating. The main room is open plan, with a kitchen, dining area, and living space. There's a wood-burning stove. It's an old building, so the floors can be a bit uneven in places. That's normal for here.
The farm has over an acre of grounds you can walk around, with a duck pond. There are chickens about. You can bring one dog.
There are some shared facilities on the farm you can pay to use. There's an indoor heated swimming pool, a small gym, and a steam room. It's £35 per person for the week. There's also a shared games room with a snooker table for adults.
In the village, there's a shop about 500 yards away. The pub is three-quarters of a mile.
For walks, you can start right from the door into the Esk Valley. The North York Moors National Park is all around. The heritage coast is about a 30 minute drive. Whitby is 8 miles away for the abbey and the harbour. The North York Moors Railway runs from Grosmont, which is very close. Goathland, which is the Heartbeat village, is also nearby.
Other places within half an hour include the fishing villages of Robin Hood's Bay and Staithes, and the market towns of Pickering and Helmsley.
Facilities in the cottage: WiFi, TV, dishwasher, washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. A cot and highchair are there if you need them. You can park on site.
