The Shack is in Beck Hole, North Yorkshire. It's a timber lodge, detached. It sleeps two people. One bedroom with an en-suite shower.

The local pub, the Birch Hall Inn, is about a two minute walk. It's famously small. They serve their own beer. There's a shop about a mile away in Goathland.
You're in the North York Moors National Park. There are footpaths everywhere. The Rail Trail goes right through the village. The Mallyan Spout waterfall is a short walk from the door.
Goathland village is less than a mile. It was used as Aidensfield in Heartbeat. Whitby is about ten miles away. You can see the abbey from miles off. The 199 steps up to the church are worth it. Robin Hood's Bay is about nine miles.
Scarborough is 24 miles if you want a traditional seaside day. For market towns, Pickering and Helmsley are within a half hour drive. Helmsley has a castle and a good market.
