The Shack is a timber lodge in Beck Hole. It's on its own, not attached to anything. It sleeps two, one bedroom and one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating.
The main room is all open plan. Kitchen at one end, living area at the other, with doors out to the garden. The bedroom is off that room, with a shower room attached. The garden is enclosed, so it's private.
It's very quiet here. You're in a small hamlet in the North York Moors. The local pub is about 150 yards away. It's a small one, they serve ales. The shop is a mile away in Goathland.
For walking, you're right on the Rail Trail. The Cleveland Way is close by. The Mallyan Spout waterfall is a short walk from the lodge, that's worth seeing. Goathland village is under a mile away, you might know it from 'Heartbeat'.
Whitby is about a 20 minute drive. You've got the abbey, the 199 steps, and the harbour there. The coast is good too. Robin Hood's Bay, Runswick Bay, and Staithes are all within half an hour. They're old fishing villages with narrow lanes. Scarborough is further, about 45 minutes.
Inland, places like Pickering and Helmsley are about 30 minutes by car. They have castles, markets, that sort of thing.
For facilities: there's a dishwasher, a TV, WiFi, and parking right outside. Bedding and towels are included. No pets.
