The Hayloft
The Hayloft is in Glaisdale, right in the North York Moors. It's a one-bedroom place for two people. It's up above the place we run as a bed and breakfast, so you've got your own entrance and it's private.
It's a barn conversion from the 1700s. The ceiling is vaulted because it was a hayloft. You get a good view out over the valley from the main window.
It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and clean. The bed is up in a mezzanine area, so you go up a staircase to get to it. It's not a problem, but just so you know.
You get your own little patio area. There's also a shared games room with a snooker table that you can use. There's an indoor heated swimming pool, a gym, and a steam room on site too. There's a charge for using those, it's £35 per person for the week, paid when you're here.
The farm has about an acre and a half of grounds. There's a duck pond and a few benches scattered around. We've got cows and some chickens that wander about.
For local things, there's a shop about 500 yards away. The pub is about three quarters of a mile. Good walking straight from the door.
You're well placed for the North York Moors. Whitby is about an eight mile drive. The North York Moors National Park website is good for walking routes. The NYMR steam railway goes from Grosmont, which is close. The coast at Robin Hood's Bay or Staithes is about half an hour by car.
Inside, it's open plan. There's a wood burning stove, a dishwasher, and a washing machine. WiFi is included. All bedding and towels are provided. There's parking right outside.
No pets, I'm afraid.
