Hill View Cottage is a bungalow in Sleights. It's detached. Sleeps four, two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. You can park right next to it.
The main thing is the view. You look out over fields towards Echo Hill. That's where a Civil War skirmish happened after the siege of Scarborough Castle. It's just a nice, quiet outlook.
Sleights village centre is a five minute walk. There's a supermarket, a pub that does food, a cafe, and a very good butchers and bakers. You don't need to drive for basics.
Whitby is about four miles away. You can drive, or you can get the train from Sleights station, which is handy. Whitby's got the harbour, the abbey, the 199 steps, all of that. The beaches are sandy. It's a proper working town.
If you go the other way from here, you're straight into the North York Moors. Goathland, which is the Heartbeat village, is about six miles. You can get the steam train from there down to Pickering. For walking, you can just start from the cottage gate onto the footpaths.
The facilities are what you'd expect. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. The garden is enclosed. No pets, sorry.
