This is the Garden View Apartment in Sneaton. It's part of a big old Georgian house that's been split into flats. The building itself is listed, so it's got character, but it also means there are some things we can't change.
It's for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom. The bathroom is en-suite. You get a 4 Star rating, which is good. It's clean and comfortable.
The apartment looks out over the garden. You have your own little patio area, and there's a bigger shared garden you can use too. It's a nice spot to sit out.
Parking is on site, which is handy. There's a washing machine, TV, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included.
The village of Ruswarp is about half a mile away. There's a shop, a good butchers, and a local pub there. The River Esk runs through it and you can hire boats in summer.
Whitby is three miles down the road. It's a proper fishing harbour. The old town has the 199 steps up to the Abbey ruins. The Abbey is managed by English Heritage. There are lots of independent shops on the cobbled streets.
For walking, you've got the Cleveland Way along the cliffs towards Robin Hood's Bay. There's also the old cinder track, which is a flat path on a former railway line, good for bikes or a easy walk.
The North York Moors Railway steam trains run from Whitby to Pickering. It goes through the middle of the moors. The station at Goathland is the one they used in Heartbeat on TV.
The North York Moors National Park starts just inland. You can drive into the middle of it in about twenty minutes.
No pets, I'm afraid.
