Hilltop Hideaway
Hilltop Hideaway is a lower ground floor flat in Whitby. It’s not really on a hilltop, it’s more just down a lane off one of the main streets. You get a good view of the Abbey ruins from the kitchen window though.
It sleeps five. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. One room has a normal double bed, the other has a double bed with a single bunk above it, which is handy for a child. It’s got a 4 Star rating, which means it’s well looked after. You go down six steps from street level to get in.
The flat has a washing machine, and bedding and towels are included. There's WiFi and a TV. You can bring up to two dogs. We can provide a cot and a highchair if you need them.
You're about a ten-minute walk from the old town and the harbour. The 199 steps up to the Abbey are close by if you fancy that. The beach is about half a mile away.
The bus and train stations are close, which is useful if you don't want to drive everywhere. There's a local shop and a pub within walking distance.
Within a half hour drive you’ve got the North York Moors. The coastline walks are right here, either along the cliffs or on the sands towards Sandsend. For a day out, National Trust North York Moors has good information on walks and places like Ravenscar.
Parking is on street. You usually find a space nearby, but it’s not a private driveway.
