St Robert's Chantry

St Robert's Chantry is in Robin Hood's Bay, in the North York Moors. It's a listed fisherman's cottage, so it's old and full of character. That also means it's small and a bit awkward in places. The stairs are steep and spiral. The ceilings are low. If you're very tall or have trouble with stairs, it might not be for you.

It sleeps two people. There are two bedrooms upstairs, one double and one twin, and a wet room with a shower. It's got a 2 Star rating. It's clean and comfortable, but it's not luxurious. It's a proper old cottage.

The living area is open plan, with a kitchen and a dining table. There's a Victorian fireplace that works. It's cosy.

You're right in the middle of the old village. That means you can walk to everything: the beach, the pubs, the cafes, the fish and chip shops. You won't need your car much once you're here. There's no private parking with the cottage, you use the village car park at the top of the hill.

The beach is shingle and rock pools. It's good for a walk or looking for fossils. The Cleveland Way path runs right through the village if you want a longer walk.

Whitby is about six miles north. Scarborough is about fifteen miles south. Both are easy drives for a day out. The North York Moors National Park is all around you. For local history, the National Trust looks after the Old Coastguard Station in the bay.

Facilities: there's a TV, a wood burning stove, and a shower. No pets. The local pub is a two minute walk.
