Harbour Retreat is on the edge of Whitby, on the upper harbour. It's a straightforward terraced house. It sleeps four, in two bedrooms. There's one bathroom with a shower over the bath.
The main thing is the parking space. It's off-road and right at the house, which is useful in Whitby. There's also a small enclosed garden with a deck that looks down the harbour. You get the afternoon sun out there.
The living area is open plan downstairs. The kitchen is adequate. The stairs are steep, typical for a house like this. The view from the landing upstairs is good, looking right down the water.
You can walk into the centre of Whitby in about ten minutes. The harbour, the beach, and the Abbey are all right there. There's a fish and chip shop and a pub about two minutes walk away.
For days out, the North York Moors National Park is all around. The heritage railway to Pickering starts at Whitby station. The coastal path goes towards Robin Hood's Bay and Staithes.
It's rated 4 Star. Bedding and towels are included. There's a washing machine and a dishwasher. One well-behaved dog is welcome.
