Silver 6Pence

Silver 6Pence is in Whitby, on Cleveland Street. It's a terraced house, and that's its own parking space right in front. That's useful, parking can be a pain in Whitby.

It sleeps five. Three bedrooms upstairs and one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's well looked after. The stairs are normal for a house like this.

You're about 200 yards from the beach. It's a short walk along the front to get into the middle of town for the pubs and fish & chips. The garden is enclosed, which is good if you've got dogs or kids. There's a green space at the back that leads down towards the sand.

In the house, there's a front living room and then a kitchen-diner at the back with doors out to the garden. The kitchen has a dishwasher. There's storage for bikes or surfboards if you've brought them.

Whitby's got the abbey and the 199 steps, obviously. The walk up is steep but the view from the top is good. For a longer walk, you can pick up the Cleveland Way or the old railway line, the Cinder Track, which goes to Robin Hood's Bay.

Robin Hood's Bay is about a 15 minute drive south. Staithes is similar, maybe 25 minutes north. If you want to go inland, the North York Moors National Park starts not far away. The steam railway from Pickering is about a 40 minute drive.

In terms of what's here: there's a TV, wifi, bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. You can bring up to two pets. The parking is on-site.
