Calico Cottage
Calico Cottage is in Whitby, just off the main Church Street. It's up a little side street, so you're away from the busiest part but still right in the middle of things.
It's a one bedroom cottage that sleeps two. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's small, but it's all there. You access it via five stone steps at the front.
The layout is a bit upside down. You come in through the kitchen on the ground floor. The bathroom is down there too, with a shower over the bath. Stairs go up to the living room on the first floor, and then more stairs go up to the bedroom on the top floor. It's compact. The stairs themselves are standard cottage stairs.
There's an old well under the kitchen floor, from when the building was a pump house. It's just a fact about the place.
You can walk to everything: the harbour, the beach, the 199 Steps up to the Abbey. The town is full of pubs, cafes, and independent shops. Many of them are dog friendly. There's a dog bakery here too.
You can have up to two dogs. The nearby beaches are great for them. The North York Moors National Park is right on the doorstep for walks. The Cleveland Way coastal path is accessible from town.
Facilities are what you'd expect: TV, WiFi, bedding and towels are included. There's no private parking, but there are public car parks close by.
