Rosie's Retreat is a town house in Whitby. It's a Grade II listed building, so it's got character but you do have to mind your head in a couple of doorways. The stairs are typical for a house this age, so they're a bit steep.
It sleeps four in two bedrooms, and there's a bathroom each, which is handy. We accept up to two dogs. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well looked after.
The house is right in the middle of town. You're a few minutes' walk from the harbour, the bridge, and the main shops. It can be busy, especially in summer or during the Goth weekends. If you're after complete quiet, it might not be for you.
There's a small walled patio garden out the back. It gets the sun in the afternoon. It's enclosed, so it's fine for dogs.
For facilities, you've got a washing machine, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's no dedicated parking, but there are pay and display car parks nearby. The closest one is about a five minute walk.
Whitby speaks for itself really. Great fish and chips, lots of pubs, and the beach. The North York Moors National Park starts just outside town. For a different view, the North Yorkshire Moors Railway runs steam trains to Pickering. Places like Robin Hood's Bay and Staithes are a short drive up the coast.
