Flowergate House is in Whitby, up on the West Cliff. It’s an apartment, so you come in through a shared main door on the street, then go up to the first floor. That’s your place.
It sleeps six, with three bedrooms and one bathroom. It’s got a 4 Star rating. It’s comfortable and well looked after. The views from the front rooms are the main thing. You look right out over the town, the harbour, and the sea.
The stairs inside the apartment are a standard flight, nothing unusual.
You’re right on Flowergate, so you’re in the middle of things. The swing bridge to the old town is a minute’s walk. There’s a shop about five yards from the door, and a pub and restaurant just up the street.
You’ve got the beach, the 199 steps up to the Abbey, and all the shops and cafes. For a wider trip, you’re on the edge of the North York Moors National Park. The coastal path is right there if you want to walk to Sandsend or Robin Hood’s Bay.
Scarborough is about a 40 minute drive south. The National Trust has a few places along the coast, like Ravenscar.
In terms of what’s there, it’s got a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and a TV. Bedding and towels are included. There’s a cot and a highchair if you need them. No pets.
