Harlie House is in Whitby. It's a short walk from the coast but you're out of the busiest part of town. The front has its own driveway.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both with their own bathrooms. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and everything works. It's open plan downstairs. Glass doors open to the back garden, which is enclosed.
The stairs are fine, nothing unusual. We've got a cot, highchair, and stairgate if you're bringing little ones. Pets are welcome, up to two dogs. There's lockable storage for bikes, which is handy as the old railway line, the Cinder Track, is nearby. You can walk or cycle to Robin Hood's Bay from there.
You can walk to the cliff tops in about ten minutes. From there, the paths zigzag down to the beach. The old town and harbour are about a 25 minute walk. It's a peaceful spot here.
Whitby's history is all around. You can see where they built Captain Cook's ship. The Dracula connection is there if you're interested. The Fish and chips are good. You're not far from Robin Hood's Bay, Staithes, and Scarborough for day trips.
Facilities are all there: washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV, bedding included. There's a shop and a pub about half a mile away.
For planning, the North York Moors National Park site is useful. Also National Trust Yorkshire for places along the coast.
