South Haven
This is South Haven. It's in Whitby, on a quiet cul-de-de-sac about five minutes' walk from the harbour and the beach. It's a detached house, so no one right next door. You get the patio garden and parking for one car, which is handy in Whitby.
It sleeps nine people, but there are only three bedrooms. They've all got their own bathroom, which is the main reason it gets the 4 Star rating. It saves a lot of queuing. The house is modern inside, clean and straightforward.
There's a big thing to know about the stairs. They're open-tread and spiral. They're quite steep. Just take care on them.
You're very close to everything. The main shop street, pubs, and fish restaurants are all about 200 yards away. The beach is a five minute walk. The cliff-top walks start from there too, you can head along to Sandsend or back towards the abbey.
The house has a washing machine, dishwasher, wifi, and a cot and highchair if you need them. Bedding is included. No pets, sorry.
For good days out, the North York Moors National Park is right there. Robin Hood's Bay is about a fifteen minute drive. The National Trust looks after a few places nearby like the coast at Ravenscar.
