This is Rose Cottage 2. It's in Sneaton, which is a quiet little spot about three miles from Whitby. It's a stone terraced cottage, over two hundred years old. It's attached to our other cottage, and our own house is next door.
It sleeps four, in two bedrooms. There's one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable. It's an old building though, so the ceilings are low in places and the doorways are a bit narrow. You'll know you're in a cottage.
Outside, there's a lawned garden area that's just for this cottage. It gets the sun in the afternoon. There's a barbecue there if you want to use it. You can park right outside.
There's a shop about a hundred yards away for basics. The pub is just a bit further, maybe two minutes' walk. They do food. For a big shop, Whitby has supermarkets.
Whitby is the main thing here. It's a ten minute drive. You've got the harbour, the Abbey, and all the fish and chip shops. The beach is sandy. It's busy in summer, but you can always find a quieter spot.
You're right between the coast and the moors. Robin Hood's Bay is about ten minutes south. It's good for a walk down to the sea. The North York Moors start just inland. For walks, the North York Moors National Park site has good information.
Inside, it's got what you'd need. Washing machine, TV, WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. We can put a cot and a highchair in for you. We allow one dog, but please keep it off the furniture.
If you're looking for things to do further out, you can get the steam train from Whitby into the Esk Valley, or go south to Scarborough. Both are within about half an hour.
