Darton Cottage is in Whitby, just a few streets back from the harbour. It's a three-storey terrace cottage.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, which are on the first and second floors. One bathroom, with a shower. It's got a 4 Star rating. The stairs are standard for a cottage like this, so they're a bit narrow and steep. The top bedroom is up in the eaves, so mind your head.
There's a small kitchen and dining area at the back. It has a dishwasher and a washing machine. The washer is in a small outbuilding. There's another outbuilding next to it you can use for storing bikes or surfboards. At the front, there's a small south-facing terrace with a table.
You're about a ten-minute walk from the centre, where all the shops, pubs, and restaurants are. Pannett Park and the museum are just around the corner. The beach and harbour are about half a mile away.
A good local walk or cycle route is the Cinder Track. It's an old railway line that goes from Whitby to Robin Hood's Bay and on to Scarborough.
Outside of Whitby, you're on the edge of the North York Moors. The North Yorkshire Moors Railway steam train goes from Whitby to Pickering. It's worth a trip.
Further along the coast, Robin Hood's Bay is about a 15-minute drive. Scarborough is about 40 minutes. For a full day out, Flamingoland or the Sea Life Centre are within an hour's drive.
Facilities: WiFi, TV, washing machine, dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. No pets, sorry.
