Seasider

This is the Seasider apartment. It's in the old Metropole hotel building on West Cliff in Whitby. It's a first floor flat for two people.

The building is a bit of a landmark. It's got a pub and a Chinese restaurant on the ground floor. You're right by the whalebone arch and the Captain Cook monument, so it's a good spot for looking out over the harbour.

The apartment itself is on the third floor. There's a lift, which is handy. The view is mostly over the town roofs and out towards the moors. You can see the Whitby Town football ground from the window.

Inside, it's one open plan room with the kitchen and living space together, then a separate bedroom and a bathroom. The bathroom has a bath with a shower over it. Everything you need is there. It's got a 3 Star rating, so it's comfortable and clean.

You can walk down a path from the front of the building straight onto the beach. It takes a couple of minutes. The town centre, the harbour, and the 199 steps up to the abbey are all about a ten minute walk away.

There's a surf school on the beach below the building if you fancy that. You can get the train from Whitby station if you want a day out without the car.

For facilities, you've got TV, bedding and towels included, and all the bills are covered. One well-behaved dog is welcome.

If you're planning trips, the North York Moors National Park website is useful. So is the English Heritage page for Whitby Abbey. Robin Hood's Bay is about fifteen minutes' drive down the coast. Scarborough is about forty minutes away.
