Stanton House - Abbey View
Stanton House is in Whitby. It's a first-floor flat in a Victorian townhouse. You get the whole flat to yourself, but the main staircase to get up there is shared with the other flats in the building.
It sleeps five. Three bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. The main room is open plan, with the kitchen, dining area, and sitting area all together. Big bay windows let in a lot of light. You can see a bit of the sea from there, and you get a view of the abbey ruins from the kitchen window. The church is right opposite the front of the building.
The bathroom has both a bath and a separate shower cubicle. The master bedroom has a kingsize bed, then there's a double and a single room.
The beach is less than a ten minute walk away. Whitby's centre, with the harbour, shops, and the 199 steps up to the church and abbey, is about the same distance. You're on the West Cliff side.
For a day out, Robin Hood's Bay is about a fifteen minute drive south. The North York Moors are right on the doorstep. The heritage steam train from Pickering to Grosmont is about a thirty minute drive inland. If you want to go further, York is roughly an hour and a half by car.
Facilities wise: WiFi, TV, washing machine, cot and highchair are there if you need them. Bedding and towels are included. There's no garden with this one. No pets.
