Esk View

Esk View is a big old house on the edge of Whitby. It used to belong to a sea captain. It's Victorian, so it's got high ceilings and an open fireplace, but it's all been looked after. You can see the harbour and the Abbey from the windows.

It sleeps twelve, which is a lot. There are five bedrooms, all with their own bathrooms, which is handy with a big group. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and clean, not a show home.

The garden is small but it's got a patio and a bit of lawn. The view from there is good. There's private parking on site, which is a real bonus in Whitby as you'll know.

You're about five minutes' walk from everything. The beach, the shops, the pubs, the Abbey steps. It's all right there. The house is next to the railway line, so the heritage steam trains go past sometimes. It's not constant, but you'll hear them. Kids usually like it.

Inside, it's got what you'd need: WiFi, washing machine, dishwasher, cot and highchair if you need them. Bedding and towels are included. No dogs, sorry.

If you fancy a day out, the North York Moors National Park starts just outside town. The National Trust has a few places nearby too, like the Cleveland Way coastal path. You can get to Robin Hood's Bay or Sandsend in about fifteen minutes by car.

It can be booked with the place next door if you've got an even bigger group.
