The Hideaway Low Hawsker

The Hideaway is at Low Hawsker, which is just outside the main village. It's a semi-detached cottage, set back off the lane. You can't really see it from the road, so it feels quiet.

It's for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's a 4 Star place, which means it's been done up recently. It's comfortable and clean. The garden is enclosed, which is handy if you're bringing a dog.

You're about two miles from the coast. To get to Whitby, it's a short drive or a good walk. There's an old railway line path that goes straight there, which people use for walking or cycling. It goes all the way to Scarborough if you're feeling energetic.

In Whitby, you've got the Abbey and the old town. The North York Moors National Park starts just inland from here. Robin Hood's Bay is about three miles south. It's all steep lanes and old cottages right on the sea.

In Hawsker itself, there's a pub about five minutes walk away. They do food. The shop is in High Hawsker, a mile up the road.

For facilities: there's a washing machine, WiFi, a TV, and parking right outside. Bedding and towels are included. There's a barbecue in the garden. You can bring one dog.

If you're planning trips, the North York Moors Railway runs from Pickering to Whitby. It's about a half hour drive to the station at Grosmont.
