Rose Cottage is in Fylingthorpe, in the North Yorkshire Moors National Park. It's a detached, stone-built house on a corner plot. It's Grade II listed, so the walls are thick and the windows are nice and deep. It's not a modern box.
It sleeps six. There are three bedrooms. Two are on the first floor near the family bathroom, and the main one is up another flight of stairs and has its own en-suite. That top bedroom has a low beam in it, so mind your head.
The garden wraps around the house. It's enclosed, so it's safe for a dog. There's an outside tap and a drain for washing off muddy boots or paws. We've got bike storage too.
You can walk down to Robin Hood's Bay from here. It's about a mile, but it's a steep hill back up. The village has a couple of pubs, a shop, and the coast path right there.
Whitby is a ten-minute drive. You've got the abbey, the harbour, fish and chips, the lot. For a longer day out, you can get on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway at Grosmont or Pickering. It's a proper steam train through the middle of the park. Goathland station is the one they used in Harry Potter.
Scarborough is south, about twenty minutes by car. York is roughly an hour's drive if you fancied that.
Inside, there's a wood burner in the dining room. The kitchen is through an archway. There's a separate living room at the front if people want a bit of quiet. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's well-equipped and comfortable. We include all bedding and towels.
We accept one well-behaved dog. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. Other things: WiFi, TV, dishwasher, washing machine, parking for two cars on the drive.
