Carmel

Carmel is our place in Whitby. It sleeps up to ten people. There are four bedrooms and three bathrooms. It's got a 5 Star rating.

The house was built in the 1950s and we've redone it. It's on three floors. The stairs are normal house stairs, not too steep.

On the ground floor, there's a kitchen and dining area that opens into each other. Through a sliding door there's a small snug room with a TV and a double sofa bed. Also on that floor is a twin bedroom and a shower room.

From the dining room, steps go down to the main living room. It's a good size and has a wood burner. Doors lead out to the garden. The garden gets the sun and is enclosed. It has artificial grass, a summerhouse, and a barbecue.

Upstairs on the first floor are the other three bedrooms. One has an en-suite shower room, and there's a separate family bathroom.

You can park two cars off the road. The beach is about a ten minute walk. The nearest shop, pub, and restaurant are about five minutes walk away.

For facilities, it's got a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a highchair and a stairgate. We allow one dog.

Whitby's all there for you to explore. The beach is long and goes all the way to Sandsend. The town has its history with the abbey and the Captain Cook connection. For a bigger day out, the North York Moors are right there. North York Moors National Park has good information on walks. National Trust Yorkshire covers some of the bigger nearby places like the coast at Ravenscar.

Within half an hour's drive you can get to Robin Hood's Bay, or go inland to places like Goathland. Scarborough is about 25 minutes south.
