It's called Sneaton Hall Whitby, but you're not booking the whole hall. It's a one-bedroom apartment in a converted Georgian manor house. The place has a 4 Star rating, which is about right. It's clean and well looked after.
The apartment is on the ground floor. It's spacious. You get your own private terrace with a good view out towards the coast and Whitby Abbey. There's a telescope there if you want a closer look.
Inside, it's one big open-plan room for the living and kitchen area, and then a separate bedroom and bathroom. The bedroom is done up in a Victorian style. The bathroom has a roll-top bath. The sofas are comfortable.
Because it's a listed building, the windows are original. They're single glazed, so you get the character but also the occasional draft. The heating works fine though.
You're about three miles from Whitby itself. There's a shop and a pub about 200 yards from the hall. The pub does food. Whitby has the usual seaside things: fish and chips, shops, the abbey. The North York Moors National Park starts pretty much on your doorstep. The Cleveland Way footpath runs past nearby.
Along the coast, Robin Hood's Bay is about a 15-minute drive. Staithes is about 25 minutes. Scarborough is about 40 minutes if you fancy a bigger town. York is roughly an hour away by car or train.
Facilities wise: parking is on site. There's a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. They can provide a cot and a highchair if you need them. The garden on the terrace is enclosed. There's WiFi and a TV. No pets.
