The Old Bakehouse is in Whitby town centre. It's a three-floor cottage that used to be a bakery. It's Grade II listed.
It's for five people. Three bedrooms and one bathroom. There's a double on the first floor, and a twin and a single on the second floor. The double has a good view of the Abbey.
The living room, kitchen and dining area are all together on the ground floor. There's a sofa, a TV, and a gas fire that looks like a wood burner. The kitchen has a dishwasher and a washing machine.
It's got a 4 Star rating. The place is clean and the furniture is modern. It's light inside.
Now, the stairs. They're the original cottage stairs. They're steep and a bit narrow in places. You need to be careful on them.
Location is the main thing here. You're right in the middle of everything. The shop is about ten yards away. The nearest pub is fifty yards. A restaurant is about a hundred yards. The beach and the harbour are a five-minute walk.
From the cottage you can walk up the 199 steps to Whitby Abbey. The view from up there is good. You can also just wander the old streets nearby.
If you drive, Robin Hood's Bay is about ten minutes away. Staithes is about twenty minutes. The North York Moors National Park starts not far from town. For a proper day out, the North Yorkshire Moors Railway runs from Pickering to Whitby.
Facilities: WiFi, TV, washing machine, dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot if you need it. No pets.
