Vale Head Apartment is in Whitby, right on the marina. It's a first-floor apartment in a modern block. You get a designated parking bay, which is a real plus in Whitby.
The apartment sleeps seven, which is surprising for two bedrooms. There's a main double room and another room with a double bunk bed that has a single on top. That second room is quite clever, really. There's one family bathroom with a shower over the bath. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well looked after.
The main living space is open plan with big windows looking out over the marina. You'll see boats, and sometimes the steam train from the North Yorkshire Moors Railway goes past on the other side of the water. The sofa is a sofa bed if you need it. The kitchen has everything you'd need, including a dishwasher.
Whitby itself is all right there. You're a short walk from the harbour, the bridge, and the old town with the abbey up on the cliff. The beach is about a fifteen-minute walk. It's a proper working town, so it's got good fish and chip shops, decent pubs, and the usual tourist bits. You can take boat trips from the harbour if you want.
For days out, the North York Moors National Park starts just behind the town. You can drive up to Sandsend or Robin Hood's Bay along the coast, both are within twenty minutes. Pickering with the railway is about half an hour inland.
Facilities: everything on the list is there. Washing machine, Wi-Fi, TV, cot and highchair if you need them. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs. There's a small play area on the grounds for kids.
