The Anchorage is in Staithes. It's down on the quay, facing the harbour. You can sit outside and look at the boats. The cliffs are right behind the house.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's a 4 Star place. The kitchen and bathroom were redone a few years ago. It's got character, but it's comfortable. The stairs are steep. It's an old cottage.
You can park two cars right outside. That's a big deal for Staithes, where parking is usually tricky.
The village is small. Cobbled streets, a few pubs and cafes. It's about a five minute walk to the shop. The beach is right there. People look for fossils.
It's good for walking. The Cleveland Way path is up on the cliff top. The North York Moors are inland. Whitby is about ten miles south. North York Moors National Park.
The facilities are what you'd expect. WiFi, TV, washing machine. Bedding is included. We can provide a cot and highchair. One well-behaved dog is welcome.
If you're interested in the history, Captain Cook worked here before he went to sea. The place is also known for artists. There's a gallery in the village. Some TV was filmed here too.
