Sycamore Cottage is in Borrowby, which is in the North York Moors. It's a quiet hamlet. There's no shop or pub here, so you'll need a car.
The cottage was originally a milking shed for cows. It was made into a holiday place in the 1970s and fixed up in 2017. It's got two bedrooms, so it sleeps four, but it feels right for a couple. The stairs aren't steep.
You're sharing the yard and drive with the two places next door. The outdoor terrace is yours, though. It looks straight down to the coast and Runswick Bay. The view is the best thing about it.
Inside is one open room with the kitchen, living and dining areas. It's simple and clean. There's one bathroom with a walk-in shower. We can put a seat in there if you need one. For young children, we've got a cot, highchair, baby bath, and things like that here.
The nearest pub is in Roxby, about a five minute drive or a fifteen minute walk down the lane. For a shop, or pubs, or fish and chips, you want Staithes. That's about ten minutes by car. Hinderwell has a butcher and a petrol station, another five minutes on from Staithes.
You can walk down to the coast from here. Runswick Bay beach is a couple of miles. Whitby and Guisborough are both about twenty minutes in the car. Scarborough is roughly an hour. If you want a big day out, York is about an hour and a half.
Things here: parking is on site, bedding and towels are included, there's a washing machine, TV, and internet. No pets, I'm afraid.
