This is Cherrytree Cottage. It's a detached bungalow up above the village of Loftus. We're on a working farm next door, so you'll see sheep in the fields. You get the whole place and the garden to yourselves.
It sleeps six, in three bedrooms. There's one bathroom with a shower. It's a 4 Star, so it's comfortable and well kept. It's not huge, but it's got everything you need. There's an open-tread staircase inside that goes up to a little mezzanine area, it's a bit steep and narrow, so watch your step.
The main thing is the location. You're a mile from the cliff top. The Cleveland Way footpath is only a few hundred yards from the gate, so you can walk straight onto it. The coastal views from there are very good.
Staithes is five minutes down the road in the car. It's a proper old fishing village with a little harbour and cobbled streets. Whitby is about twenty minutes away. That's where you go for fish and chips, the abbey, and all the shops. Both are handy.
You're right on the edge of the North York Moors National Park. Places like Goathland are about half an hour's drive inland. There's a shop and a pub in the village, about a mile down the hill.
Inside, there's a woodburning stove in the living room, which makes it cosy. There's a washing machine, WiFi, and parking right outside. Bedding and towels are included. We allow up to two dogs. We've also got a cot and a highchair if you need them.
