Lane End Cottage

Lane End Cottage is an old barn we converted. It's on our small farm in Upleatham, near Saltburn. It's detached, so you've got your own space.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms. One bedroom is upstairs with a king size bed and its own shower room. The second bedroom is downstairs. It's got twin beds that can be pushed together into one big one. That one uses the main bathroom, which has a freestanding bath. We got it all done up a few years ago, so it's in good shape. It's got a 5 Star rating.

The living area is open plan with the kitchen. There's a wood burner for chilly nights. The wi-fi works fine. Outside, there's a small private patio right by the door. You can also use the bench over in the farmyard, which we share. It looks out over the valley. We've got chickens and ducks wandering about, and sheep in the next field.

There's a pub about half a mile away. A shop and restaurants are about a mile away in Saltburn. The beach at Saltburn is just over a mile away. It's a good, sandy beach with a pier and a historic cliff lift. Saltburn Golf Club is just up the lane if you play.

You're right on the edge of the North York Moors. You can walk straight into Errington Woods from here, which is popular with mountain bikers. The North York Moors Railway is about a 20-minute drive away in Grosmont. The coastal villages like Staithes are great for a visit, and Whitby is about half an hour's drive. Guisborough, an old market town, is three miles away and has a priory.

Facilities wise: there's parking, an electric vehicle charger, a dishwasher, a barbecue, and towels and bedding are included. We can take one well-behaved dog.
