Kew Cottage is in Brotton, on the edge of Saltburn. It's a two-up two-down stone terrace cottage, one of a row. It's from the 1880s, when it was built for miners. You've got your own parking space out the front.
It sleeps four people in two bedrooms. There's one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well-kept. The stairs are steep, like in most old cottages.
The living room has two sofas and a woodburning stove. The kitchen is open plan with a dining table. There's a small enclosed patio out the back with a table and chairs.
You're about two minutes walk from the village pub. There are a couple of takeaways and a small shop in Brotton too. The local golf course is well-regarded.
The coast is the main thing here. You can walk to Saltburn-by-the-Sea from the cottage. It's about a mile and a half. They've got the Victorian pier and it's good for surfing. There's a surf school if you fancy a lesson. For a different sort of beach, Skinningrove is two miles away. It's a bit more hidden and rugged.
You're right on the Cleveland Way walking trail. It links the coastal villages. Staithes is a 15 minute drive. Whitby is about 40 minutes. The North York Moors National Park starts just inland.
For facilities: there's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV, and bike storage. Bedding and towels are included. There's a highchair and stairgate. You can bring up to two dogs. The place is decorated for Christmas if you book over that period.
