Woodside Cottage
Woodside Cottage is in Scaling, near Saltburn. It's attached to our house but you have your own entrance and the garden is private.
It sleeps two, with the bedroom upstairs and everything else on the ground floor. It's got a 4 Star rating. There's a wood burner, and outside there's a hot tub. We leave robes and slippers for that.
The stairs to the bedroom are a typical cottage spiral staircase. They're quite tight. You need to be steady on your feet.
We're on the edge of a working farm. There's a hotel at the end of our drive, about 400 yards, that does meals and afternoon tea. The nearest proper shop and pub is in Lingdale, a mile and a half away.
For the coast, Staithes is about a ten minute drive. It's all cobbled streets and fishing cottages. Saltburn-by-the-sea is a bit further, maybe 15 minutes. You've got the pier and the cliff lift there.
You're right in the North York Moors. The walking from the door is very good. For a day out, Whitby is about half an hour's drive. Goathland, which is where they filmed Heartbeat, is similar.
Facilities: it's all one level inside except the bedroom. There's an electric vehicle charger. Parking is right outside. We allow up to two dogs. Bedding and towels are included. There's WiFi.
