Woodside Cottage
Woodside Cottage is in Scaling, about a mile and a half from the A171. It's attached to the main farmhouse where we live, but you have your own front door and it's all private. You're right on the edge of a working farm.
It's a 4 Star place, sleeps two. There's one bedroom upstairs and a bathroom on the ground floor. The stairs to the bedroom are steep, so watch your head. We've put a handrail in.
The kitchen is through the front door. It's got what you need. The living room has French doors out to your own patio. There's a wood burner. We provide the wood.
Outside, there's a hot tub and a sauna in a private section of the garden. We leave robes and slippers for that. There's also a barbecue.
The cottage is in the North York Moors. You can walk straight out onto footpaths. Our private driveway leads up to the hotel at the top, about 400 yards away. They do lunch, afternoon tea, and evening meals.
The nearest shop and pub is a mile and a half away in Scaling Dam. The coast is close. Staithes is about a ten minute drive. It's all cobbled streets and little alleys. Whitby is about fifteen minutes in the car.
Facilities: there's parking right outside, an electric vehicle charger, WiFi, and towels and bedding are included. We can take up to two dogs. The entrance and ground floor are level, so it's suited for some wheelchair users, but the bedroom is upstairs.
