Seaton Cottage

Seaton Cottage is part of the Seaton Hall estate just outside Staithes. It sleeps four and has two bathrooms, which is handy. It's a 4 Star place, so it's well kept and comfortable. You're allowed one dog.

The cottage is old, part of a manor house. It's got stone walls and beams. It's quirky. Some doors are narrow. The stairs to the first floor are steep and a bit tight, like a lot of old cottages.

There's a gravel patio out the back with a table and chairs, and a hammock. It gets the evening sun.

There's a cafe on the estate that does meals. The owners run it. A pub is about three quarters of a mile away, and the centre of Staithes with shops and places to eat is a short walk down the hill.

You're right between the coast and the moors. Staithes itself is a proper old fishing village with steep streets. The North York Moors National Park is on your doorstep. The Cleveland Way path runs along the cliffs here.

Within half an hour you can drive to Runswick Bay, or to Whitby for the abbey, fish and chips, and boat trips. Saltburn-by-the-Sea is good for surfing. The North Yorkshire Moors Railway steam trains are about a 25 minute drive away at Grosmont.

It has the basics: WiFi, TV, washing machine, dishwasher, parking. Bedding and towels are included. They can provide a cot and highchair.
