Quaker's Cottage is in Skinningrove. It's a very small village in a little bay. It's quiet here, most of the time.
The cottage sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's clean and comfortable. The stairs are a bit steep. It's an old cottage, built in the 1850s. It was originally for a fisherman.
There's an enclosed front garden with a table and chairs. Out the back is a lockable yard. It's handy for hanging up wetsuits. There's some beach gear stored there you can use, like a windbreak.
Inside, there's a wood burner in the living room. We leave it ready to light. The kitchen has what you need. The bathroom has a bath with a shower over it. The stained glass in the doors shows local scenes.
You can walk to the beach in a few minutes. It's mainly sand and rock pools. The village has a local café and a fish and chip shop. The pub is a short walk away.
For a bigger beach, Saltburn is about a ten-minute drive. It has a pier and is good for surfing. Staithes and Runswick Bay are along the coast, both very pretty. Whitby is half an hour away by car.
The Cleveland Way footpath runs right past the cottage. You can walk along the coast from here. The North York Moors are inland. The landscape is all heather and hills, good for longer walks.
Facilities: there's a washing machine, WiFi, a TV, parking for one car on site. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair if you need them. You can bring up to two dogs.
