This is Tinakori, on Church Street in Staithes. It's a terraced cottage, old and narrow, part of a row. It's about a five minute walk down to the harbour.
It sleeps four, in three bedrooms. One bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating, so it's comfortable and clean but it's not a show home. The stairs are exactly what you'd expect, they're steep and a bit tight. You'll need to watch your head in places.
There's a good shop and a couple of pubs a two minute walk away. The Cod and Lobster is right on the harbour. The beach is stony, but the walk along the Cleveland Way is great. You can drive to Runswick Bay or Sandsend for sand.
Whitby is about 20 minutes by car. Go for the Abbey, the fish and chips, or the Goth weekend if that's your thing. The North York Moors Railway runs from Grosmont, which is about a 15 minute drive.
The cottage has a woodburning stove, which is good for cooler evenings. There's a washing machine, WiFi, and a TV. Bedding is included. We can take one well-behaved dog.
For planning, the North York Moors National Park site is useful. So is the National Trust for Yorkshire page, for places like Whitby Abbey.
