Holme Crest

Alright, so Holme Crest is in Staithes, right in the middle of the old part of the village. It's a proper old cottage, built back in the 1890s for fishermen. It's terraced, so you've got neighbours on one side. You're basically on the main path through the village, which is part of the Cleveland Way. The beach and the harbour are about a hundred yards down the hill.

It sleeps five people. Three bedrooms, one bathroom. We did it up properly in 2020, so it's got everything working but it still feels like a cottage. It's got a 3 Star rating. That means it's comfortable and clean, not a show home. The stairs are steep, just to say. It's that sort of house.

You can bring one dog. There's a woodburning stove for when it gets chilly, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them.

For shops and pubs, you don't have to go far. The local shop is a few minutes' walk, and the nearest pub and restaurant are about a hundred yards away. The fishermen still land their catch on the harbour, so it's that kind of place.

For walks, you step out the door and you're straight onto the Cleveland Way. The cliff top walks towards Whitby are really good. You can drive to Runswick Bay, Robin Hood's Bay, Scarborough and Filey quite easily, all within half an hour or so.
