Seascape is a terrace cottage in Skinningrove. It looks directly out to the North Sea, which is about fifty yards away.
It's a four-person place. Two rooms upstairs. The main bedroom has the sea view. There's one bathroom, which we've done up properly so it's modern.
The 5 Star rating means it's well-equipped and finished to a good standard. It's clean and bright. The stairs are typical for a terrace, so a bit narrow.
You get a small enclosed patio at the back. It's not big, but it's private and gets the sun in the evening.
Skinningrove itself is quiet. It's a working village, not really set up for tourism. There's a local pub, a chippy, and a small café. That's about it. The beach here is more for walking than swimming.
If you want a proper sandy beach for the day, Runswick Bay is about a ten minute drive. Saltburn is fifteen minutes the other way; it's got the pier, surf hire, and more places to eat. Staithes is similar, and it's just up the coast.
Whitby is half an hour away by car. You can do the abbey, the harbour, all the usual stuff. It's busy in season.
The Cleveland Way footpath runs right past the end of the street. You can walk for miles along the coast from the door.
The North York Moors start a few minutes inland. Good for walking or just a drive through the heather.
You can bring up to two dogs. They're welcome.
Facilities: we've put in a dishwasher, there's wifi, a TV, and parking is on the street outside. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair if you need them.
